O’Level results are an important criterion when it comes to admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. For this reason, all aspirants will be needing to upload either their WAEC, NECO, GCE, or NABTEB results on their JAMB portal before they can be considered for admission into their choice institution.
During JAMB registration, candidates will be asked to provide their O’Level results to complete their registration. And by that time, not all candidates will have their O’Level results at hand because most of them are just fresh secondary school graduates who are still waiting for their results to be released or have not written their O’level (WAEC, NECO, GCE, and NABTEB) exam yet.
But however, those currently with their O’Level results get their results uploaded automatically upon completing registration, while those without O’Level use “awaiting results” results instead. This awaiting results simply means your results are not out yet.
Now after the JAMB exam, and while the admission process of the year of various institutions is about to start, some of those who haven’t uploaded their results yet begin to panic, wondering if there is a deadline for uploading the results, and if that day passes, the portal might be closed, which will make them lose their admission.
People like these O’Level results might still not be uploaded by that time, maybe because their results have still not been released or because they feel lazy and don’t have time yet. But whatever the reason is, our concern here is, is there really a deadline for uploading O’Level results?
Well, in today’s article, I will be providing a very detailed answer to that question in the best way I can. So without wasting much time, let’s proceed.
Is There A Deadline For Uploading O’Level Results On JAMB Portal?
When a student asks this question, it’s either they are referring to JAMB or school. So to make this part more understandable, I will be dividing it into two sections.
The first will be for those who want to know if JAMB has a deadline for uploading O’Level results on the JAMB portal, while the second will be for those who want to know if school has a deadline for uploading O’Level results on the JAMB portal.
1 Does JAMB have a deadline for uploading O’Level results on the JAMB portal?
NO, JAMB doesn’t have a deadline for uploading O’Level results on the JAMB portal. In fact, there is no place where JAMB stated that they have a deadline. This means JAMB gave candidates the chance to upload their O’Level results anytime they want, as they don’t close down the portal for uploading O’Level.
But that doesn’t mean your results shouldn’t be uploaded, so don’t get things wrong. Now how about school? Do they have a deadline? Let’s find out.
2 Does School Have A Deadline For Uploading O’Level Results On JAMB Portal?
The answer to this question depends on your choice of institution. Some might give their candidates a deadline just like Yabatech, UNIABUJA, and more, while some wouldn’t, so it all depends on the institution you are aspiring for.
However, the best thing to do is to check if your choice of institution has a deadline so you will know the next step to take so as not to miss your chance of gaining admission.
Now understand that if an institution gives a deadline for candidates to upload their O’Level results, it doesn’t mean the JAMB portal will be closed after the deadline date. It only means that any candidate who fails to upload his/her results before the deadline date will not be considered for admission, so don’t get confused.
NOTE:
Just because JAMB doesn’t have a deadline and probably your school didn’t give a deadline also doesn’t mean you don’t need to upload your results. One thing you should know as an aspirant is that your O’Level results need to be uploaded before your institution admission process starts, with or without being given a deadline.
Failure to upload your O’Level result automatically means you are not eligible for admission.
So in conclusion, JAMB doesn’t have a deadline, but your school may. Nevertheless, your O’Level results need to be uploaded before your institution’s admission process for the year commences, or you might lose your chance. Thank you for reading this article.
