DE Applicants: How To Check NIPED Status

In today’s article, I will be showing you a step-by-step guide on how to check NIPED status on your JAMB caps as a DE applicant. Since JAMB introduced the “No Verification, No Admission” policy, all Direct Entry (DE) candidates A’Level results must be verified before he/she can be considered for admission.

But the problem here is that most DE students don’t know how to check their NIPED status, and without this one might end up losing that admission as he/she would be left behind. Which is why in this article I will be explaining all that, but before we proceed, let’s understand what NIPED status is all about.

What’s the Idea Behind NIPED Status?

Before, when a candidate applied for Direct Entry (DE), the institution would be the only one doing the necessary verification, with A’level results being among them. But in 2023, JAMB made a U-turn as they noticed some things that were not right.

According to JAMB, institutions were accepting fake A’level results, which was slowly reducing the integrity of DE. For this reason, JAMB made the decision to verify these results themselves.

So presently, DE aspirants need to upload their A’Level results and wait patiently for JAMB to verify the authenticity of the results by contacting your awarding school. And for a DE candidate to monitor the process, he/she must check his/her NIPED status to see if their results or certificate have been verified or not, because without this verification, he/she won’t be considered for DE admission.

So the question here is, “How do I check my NIPED status?”. Well, let’s proceed.

How To Check NIPED Status On JAMB Caps For DE Applicants

To check NIPED status on your JAMB caps, you need to follow these steps below.

• Visit JAMB Caps following the link https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng . You should see something like the screenshot below after visiting the website.

• Input your email address and password, then proceed to login. If you have forgotten about your password, you can simply click on “Forgot Password,” and then you will be taken to a place where you will submit your email. Submit your JAMB caps email and click on “Password Reset.” A new password will be sent to your email in a few seconds, and then you can now login.

• When you login, all DE applicants should see an option that says “Check NIPED Status,” then click it. From there, a new page will load where you can see if yours has been approved or not.

With these 3 steps listed above, you can check your NIPED status with ease. Now if yours has been approved, you should see a message that says

Dear YOUR NAME,
Your Direct Entry A’Level Qualification results are yet to be cleared.

Just like the screenshot below.

However, if yours has successfully been cleared, you should see a message that says

Dear YOUR NAME,
Congratulations! Your Direct Entry A’Level Qualification results have been verified and cleared.

This signals your eligibility to be processed for direct entry admission into your desired institution.

I Can’t Find NIPED Status On My JAMB Caps, What To Do?

There is no way you would register for DE and won’t see the option for checking NIPED status in your JAMB caps. So please confirm if you actually registered for DE before trying to check, as there is no magic here; if you didn’t register, you can’t see the option.
