Delta State University (DELSU) is one of the best and most competitive state universities in Nigeria. Every year, they get a large number of applicants, which makes admission into the university somehow hard.
The fact that they even conduct post-UTME exams is proof that this institution is a hot cake compared to other state universities that do only screening. But even as DELSU is very competitive, getting admission into the university is not impossible.
It’s only those who don’t know how to calculate their aggregate score as aspirants of DELSU who feel admission into the university is impossible. In fact, the reason why 30% of the applicants of DELSU still end up rewriting JAMB again the next year is because they don’t know how to calculate their aggregate.
But first of all, what exactly is the DELSU aggregate score all about? Well, I will start by explaining that.
What Is the DELSU Aggregate Score?
The DELSU aggregate score is the overall score of an applicant after adding all the necessary grades. It is usually over 100%, and it plays a vital role when it comes to admission into this institution. Knowing how to calculate this score will not just help you know your chances of gaining admission but also help you know the next decision to take.
But how will you know your aggregate score when you don’t know how to calculate it? I guess you are here because you don’t know how to calculate yours. But however, you are at the right place because in this article, we will be showing you a step-by-step guide on how to calculate your aggregate score for DELSU so you wouldn’t be left behind by your peers.
How To Calculate DELSU Aggregate Score For 2025/2026
To calculate your aggregate score, you will be needing two things. They include your:
- UTME Score
- Post-UTME Score
Your UTME score weighs 50%, while your post-UTME score weighs 50%, which gives a total of 100%.
Additionally, your UTME score is what you got after writing UTME, which is usually over 400. While your post-UTME score is what you got after writing the DELSU post-UTME exam, which is usually over 100.
Now let’s assume you have both your UTME and post-UTME scores; to calculate your aggregate score, simply follow the steps below.
- Divide your UTME score by 8.
- Divide your post-UTME score by 2.
- Add them together.
Now let’s explain each of these steps in detail.
STEP 1: Divide Your UTME Score By 8
To do this, just simply divide anything you got in your UTME by 8 and keep it aside.
For example, let’s just say Miracle got 295 in UTME; he just simply needs to divide that 295 by 8 and keep it aside.
So, dividing it, we will get 295/8 = 36.875%.
STEP 2: Divide Your Post-UTME Score By 2
To do this, just simply divide whatever you scored in post-UTME by 2 and keep it aside.
For example, let’s say Miracle scored 72 in post-UTME; he just needs to divide 72 by 2 and keep it aside.
Dividing it, we will get 72/2=36%.
STEP 3: Add Them Together
To do this, just simply add whatever you got after dividing your UTME score by 8 with whatever you got after dividing your post-UTME score by 2.
So, after dividing Miracle’s UTME score by 8, we got 36.875. And after dividing his post-UTME score by 2, we got 32.
Adding them together, we will get 36.875 + 36 = 72.875.
Therefore, Miracle’s aggregate score is 72.875% out of 100%.
So you can see that it is very easy. But before we conclude this article, I will like you to take note of the following.
NOTE:
