The Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) is one of the most competitive universities in Nigeria. As of last year, JAMB released a list of the most sought universities in Nigeria, and surprisingly, FUOYE was among the top ten.
From the list JAMB released, it is evident that the number of aspirants FUOYE gets is very large, which is the cause of the school being so competitive. And this competitiveness simply means only aspirants with high aggregate scores will stand a chance.
That’s why for a school like this, the only smart way of knowing your probability of getting admission is by calculating your aggregate score. After calculating it, comparing it with your choice of course will make you know if you stand a chance of getting admission or not.
So the question now is, how is this aggregate score for FUOYE calculated? Well, kindly read through this article, as I will be explaining the process of calculating your aggregate score for FUOYE step-by-step. Without wasting much time, let’s proceed.
How To Calculate FUOYE Aggregate Score 2025/2026
To get admission into FUOYE, you can either use one of the two modes of admission, which include the UTME and Direct Entry. The method in which FUOYE calculates the aggregate score for their UTME applicants is different from that of the Direct Entry applicants.
For this reason, I will be dividing this section into two. The first will tell you how FUOYE calculates their aggregate score for UTME applicants, while the second will tell you how FUOYE calculates their aggregate score for Direct Entry applicants.
All you have to do is to navigate the section of your mode of admission and read through.
How To Calculate FUOYE Aggregate Score For UTME Applicants?
To calculate your aggregate score for FUOYE as a UTME applicant, you will be needing 2 things. They include your
- UTME Score
- O’Level Results
Your UTME score weighs 60%, while your O’Level results weigh 30% with an additional 10% bonus mark for those with one sitting, making a total of 100%. This simply means those with two sittings aren’t entitled to this 10% bonus mark.
So what exactly are one and two sitting all about? Well, one sitting is simply using just one O’Level result (e.g., only WAEC, NECO, GCE and more).
While 2 sitting means combining two different O’Level results (e.g., WAEC and NECO). So only those making use of just one result are eligible for this extra 10% bonus, while those combining two results aren’t eligible.
Now back to the topic. If you have those two details already, kindly follow the steps below to calculate your aggregate score.
STEP 1: Convert your UTME score to 60%.
To convert your UTME score to 60%, simply make use of the formula below.
(Your UTME Score ÷ 400) × 60
For example,
Let’s say Miracle scored 280 in UTME; to convert his UTME score to 60%, we just need to use the formula I mentioned above. Solving it, we will get
(280 ÷ 400) × 60
0.7 × 60 = 42
So Miracle got 42 out of 60%. Now let’s keep that 42 aside.
STEP 2: Convert Your O’Level Results To 30%
Now to convert it to 30%, kindly add the corresponding points in your 5 core O’Level subjects, and that’s all.
Below are the corresponding points for each grade in FUOYE.
Grade | Points |
A1 | 6 |
B2 | 5 |
B3 | 4 |
C4 | 3 |
C5 | 2 |
C6 | 1 |
Anything other than C6 is automatically 0.
For example,
Let’s say Miracle is an aspirant of biochemistry at FUOYE. As someone that wants to study BCH, his 5 core O-Level subjects will be English language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology. Let’s also say he is using just WAEC (1 sitting) to process his admission, and he got the following grades in those 5 core subjects.
English Language B2
Mathematics A1
Chemistry B3
Physics B2
Biology A1
To convert his grades to 30%, we will first need to assign the corresponding points for each of the grades he got before adding them up. Assigning it, we will have
English Language B2 = 5 points
Mathematics A1 = 6 points
Chemistry B3 = 4 points
Physics B2 = 5 points
Biology A1 = 6 points
Adding the points, we will get
5+6+4+5+6 = 24
Therefore, Miracle got 24 out of 30%.
STEP 3: Add The Scores Together
To get your final aggregate, just add whatever you got after converting your UTME score to 60% with what you got after converting your O’Level results to 30%.
From the example we used above, after converting Miracles UTME score and O’Level results to 60% and 30%, we got 42 and 24, respectively.
To get Miracle’s final aggregate, we just have to add those 2 scores together. Adding them, we will get
42+24 = 66
Since Miracle is using 1 sitting, he is eligible for the 10% bonus mark. So adding everything up, we will get
66+10 = 76
So Miracle’s final aggregate score is 76 out of 100% as a UTME applicant of FUOYE.
2 How To Calculate FUOYE Aggregate Score For Direct Entry Applicants?
To calculate your aggregate score for FUOYE as a direct entry applicant, you will need the following details.
- A’Level or Diploma results
- O’level results
Your A’Level or Diploma results weigh 60%, while your O’Level results weigh 30%. Now there is an extra additional 10% bonus mark that will be added for those who are using one sitting, making a total of 100% aggregate score.
I explained the meaning of one and two sitting earlier, so I assume you understand it already. So to calculate your aggregate score for FUOYE, kindly follow the step-by-step process below.
STEP 1: Convert Your A’Level or Diploma Results To 60%
To calculate this, note that a 1st Class or Distinction earns 60 points out of 60%, while a 2nd Class or Upper Credit earns 48 points out of 60%. It’s very straightforward.
Let’s say Favour is a direct entry applicant of FUOYE, and she is using JUPEB. If she got a distinction, it means her score is 60 points out of 60%. Now let’s proceed to step 2.
STEP 2: Convert Your O’Level Results To 30%.
To convert your O’Level results to 30%, simply add the corresponding points for all the grades in your 5 core O’Level subjects. The corresponding points for all grades in FUOYE are
Grade | Points |
A1 | 6 |
B2 | 5 |
B3 | 4 |
C4 | 3 |
C5 | 2 |
C6 | 1 |
If you get anything other than C6, that’s automatically 0 points.
Example,
Let’s say Favour wants to study nursing at FUOYE; her 5 core subjects will be English Language, Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics and Biology. Let’s say she is combining WAEC & NECO (2 sittings) and got the following grades in those 5 subjects.
English Language A1
Mathematics B3
Chemistry A1
Physics B2
Biology A1
To convert these grades to 30%, let’s first assign the corresponding points to those 5 grades. The corresponding points for the grades in Favour’s 5 core subjects are included.
English Language A1 = 6 points
Mathematics B3 = 4 points
Chemistry A1 = 6 points
Physics B2 = 5 points
Biology A1 = 6 points
Now that we have assigned it, let’s add the points up. Adding it, we will get
6+4+6+5+6 = 27
Therefore, Favour got 27 out of 30%.
STEP 3: Add The Scores Together
The final step in calculating your aggregate score as DE applicants of FUOYE is adding whatever you got after converting your A’Level/Diploma and O’Level to 60% and 30%, respectively.
From the example I used, you can see that after converting Favour’s A’Level (JUPEB) to 60%, we got 60 points. And after converting her O’Level to 30%, we got 27.
Adding them together to get the final aggregate score, we will get
60+27 = 77
Since Favour used 2 sittings, she isn’t eligible for the 10% bonus mark, so we won’t add it.
So therefore, Favour’s aggregate score is 77 out of 100%.
Thanks to all about calculating the FUOYE Aggregate Score for both UTME and Direct Entry applicants. As you can see, it’s straightforward and very easy.
