The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has been one of the most competitive institutions in Nigeria for the past few years. In fact, UNIZIK made it to the list of the top 5 most sought-after universities in 2025.
According to JAMB stats, they got over 51,467 applicants. This is just a proof of how competitive this institution is. And for an institution this competitive, the only way to stand a chance of gaining admission is to get a very good aggregate score.
Now what point am I trying to make? Well, all I am trying to say is that due to the level of competitiveness at this university, it’s best to know your aggregate score before they begin their admission process.
This will help you know if you stand a chance of getting admission and also help you know the next decision to take rather than allowing this year to go to waste.
And one of the easiest ways to know your aggregate score for UNIZIK is to calculate it by yourself, which is exactly what I will be explaining to you in today’s article. So without wasting time, let’s proceed.
How To Calculate UNIZIK Aggregate Score 2025/2026?
To calculate your aggregate score for UNIZIK, you will need the following.
- Your UTME Score
- Your O’level Results (e.g., WAEC, NECO and more)
Your UTME score weighs 70%, while your O’level results weigh 30%. Unlike other universities in Nigeria whose aggregate score is over 100%, UNIZIK’s aggregate score is over 400.
Now to calculate your aggregate score for UNIZIK, kindly follow the step-by-step process below.
STEP 1: Calculate Your UTME Score
To calculate your UTME score, simply multiply whatever you scored in UTME by 0.7.
For example,
Let’s say Victor scored 302 in UTME. To calculate his UTME score, we just need to multiply 302 by 0.7. Multiplying it, we will get
302 × 0.7 = 211.4
So after calculating Victor’s UTME score, we got 211.4. Now let’s keep that value aside for now.
STEP 2: Calculate Your O’level Results Score
To do this, you need to add up the corresponding grade scores for your 4 O’level subjects and multiply the results by 0.3. The 4 O’level subjects mean the 4 subjects you did in UTME.
The corresponding scores for each grade are as follows.
A1 = 90
B2 = 80
B3 = 70
C4 = 60
C5 = 55
C6 = 50
D7, E8, F9 and Awaiting Results (AR) are 0.
Now if you credited your 4 O’level subjects in one sitting, you automatically have a 10-point bonus mark. But if you didn’t meet that condition (e.g., making use of two sittings or not crediting your 4 O-level subjects), then you won’t get any bonus mark.
For those who don’t understand, crediting your O’level means getting a grade that’s not less than C6. This means if you get anything other than C6, like D7, E9 and F9, in any of the 4 O’level subjects, you didn’t credit your O’level subjects.
While one sitting simply means making use of just one O’level result (e.g., WAEC, NECO, GCE and more), and two sittings means combining two O’level results (e.g., WAEC & NECO, NECO & GCE and more).
Now let’s take an example of this.
Let’s say Victor did English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in UTME; his 4 O’level subjects will also be English Language, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, as explained earlier.
Let’s also say he did NECO and got the following grades in those 4 subjects.
English Language = B2
Mathematics = A1
Physics = A1
Chemistry = B3
Like explained earlier, the first thing we will need to do is to assign the corresponding score to each of those 4 subjects. Assigning them, we will get
English Language = B2 (80)
Mathematics = A1 (90)
Physics = A1 (90)
Chemistry = B3 (70)
So let’s add these scores together. Adding them, we will get
80+90+90+70 = 330
Now from Victor’s NECO results above, it’s evident that he credited his 4 subjects in one sitting, which would earn him the 10 points bonus mark.
So adding the bonus mark, we will get
330+10 = 340.
The next thing to do now is to multiply 340 by 0.3, as explained earlier. Multiplying it, we will get
340 × 0.3 = 102
So after calculating Victor’s O-level results, we got 102.
STEP 3: Add Them Together
The final stage to calculate your aggregate score for UNIZIK is to add whatever you got after calculating your UTME score with whatever you got after calculating your O-level results.
From the example above, after calculating Victor’s UTME score, we got 211.4. While after calculating his O-level results, we got 102.
So to get his aggregate score, we simply need to add those two values together. Adding them, we will get
211.4 + 102 = 313.4
Therefore, Victor’s aggregate score for UNIZIK is 313.4 out of 400.
That’s just how UNIZIK calculates their aggregate score, and as you can see, it’s not really hard. So tell us, were you able to calculate your aggregate score after reading this article? If yes, then I am happy for you. If not, then tell us where you don’t understand in the comment section below, and we will gladly assist you. Thank you for reading this article.

I taught one would need 5 o’level results
Thank you for your response. No sir/ma, you will just 4 which are the 4 subjects you did in UTME.
