Which Date Of Birth Does NYSC Use For Mobilisation?

by EDUFEED BRAINS

One of the questions common to most prospective corp members (PCMs) is the question of “Which DOB does NYSC use for mobilisation?”. The truth is that most of the PCMs who ask these questions are those with a mismatch in date of birth on their documents.

It could be that the DOB on their WAEC is different from the DOB on their NIN, BVN, JAMB portal or the other way round. And now, they fear that NYSC will use the DOB on their documents with the wrong DOB to mobilise them. I’m very sure this is the reason why 95% of you are here.

Now the question is, which date of birth exactly does NYSC actually use for mobilisation? Is it the one on your WAEC? The one on your NIN/BVN? The one on your JAMB portal? Or which exactly? Well, in today’s article, I will be providing an answer to that question, telling you the DOB NYSC uses for mobilisation. So without wasting much time, let’s proceed!

Which Date Of Birth Does NYSC Use For Mobilisation?

NYSC uses the date of birth on the JAMB profile for mobilisation. This simply means that any date of birth on your JAMB profile is what NYSC will use to mobilise you. That’s why after registration, the same DOB on your JAMB profile is still what you will see on your NYSC portal when you log in.

So if the date of birth on your JAMB profile is wrong, you should be really worried because that same date of birth will be extracted by NYSC during registration.

What of NIN and BVN? Does NYSC Use Their DOB For Mobilisation?

NO, NYSC doesn’t use the date of birth on your NIN for mobilisation. Like I said earlier, it’s the DOB on your JAMB profile that NYSC will use and nothing else. The only serious thing NYSC uses your NIN for is to extract your name, which will be used to compare the name on your matriculation list.

In case you don’t know, NYSC extracts the name on your NIN to make sure it’s the same as the name on your matriculation list. And if it’s not the same, you will get an error while trying to register. So in essence, NYSC uses NIN to extract your name for comparison, not your DOB.

How About WAEC, NECO, GCE and NABTEB? Does NYSC Use Their DOB For Mobilisation?

No, NYSC doesn’t use the date of birth on your WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB for mobilisation. The only certain thing NYSC uses is WAEC, which is used for the correction of DOB only after online registration. But as for NECO, GCE and NABTEB, NYSC doesn’t use any of those at all for anything.

So in conclusion, NYSC only extracts your DOB from your JAMB portal. And as for your NIN, it is only used to extract your name, which I explained its purpose for earlier in this article. While WAEC is only used to correct DOB only after registration. Thank you for reading this article.
