It’s not new that one of the requirements for admission is that your O’Level results must be uploaded to your JAMB caps before your school admission process begins. This upload is very necessary for both admission on JAMB caps and school admission.
However, there are situations whereby some students fail to upload their O’Level results early. It might be because they forgot or because they didn’t know that theirs hasn’t been uploaded, in which when they discovered, their school admission process had started already.
Now the question is, “In this situation, will such student admission be affected?” This is the exact question I will be focusing on answering in this article. So if you are in this situation also, kindly read through, as I will be telling you if a late upload of your O’Level results will affect your admission.
So without wasting much time, let’s proceed!
Will Uploading Of Your O’Level Results Late On JAMB Caps Affect Your Admission?
Well, whether the late upload of your O’Level results will affect your admission depends on if your institution gave a deadline or not. I will be addressing both of them separately, so let’s start with if a deadline was given.
I) If a Deadline Was Given
If your institution gave you a deadline to upload your O’Level results and you didn’t meet the deadline, it will surely affect your admission. In fact, most institutions will even make it clear that candidates who didn’t meet up will not be offered admission.
So if you know your institution gave you a deadline and you uploaded yours after the deadline, then you shouldn’t be expecting any admission on both your JAMB and school portal. Now what if no deadline was given and you uploaded your results late? Will your admission still be affected? Let’s find out.
II) No Deadline
If your institution didn’t give you a deadline and you uploaded your O’Level results late, it may or may not affect your admission. Now let me explain why I said so.
When your school begins their admission process, they will compile a list of their candidates who are eligible for admission and send it to JAMB. The role JAMB will play here is to verify the authenticity of all the candidate’s admission in that list before giving them admission on their portal.
And one of the things they will use for verification is their O’Level results. Now if they check your portal and your O’Level results aren’t present, they might not wait till you upload them, which might lead to your admission being affected.
Although some candidates might be lucky in the sense that just before their school sent their details to JAMB for verification, they quickly uploaded it, which saved them. But how would you know if yours was uploaded before your school sent your name (if you are eligible) or before JAMB verifies the authenticity of your admission?
That’s the reason why I said it may or may not affect your admission. It all depends on if you kind of meet up with the die minutes.
Fine, you might still be offered admission on your school portal, but without the admission on your JAMB portal, it’s more like a waste. This is because for you to say you are fully admitted, you must be offered admission on both your school and JAMB portal.
So What Do You Do Now?
Well, here is my advice for you. If your institution didn’t give a deadline and you uploaded your O’Level results when their admission process had begun, just keep on hoping. This is because you can’t tell if you were actually lucky or not.
I have seen some candidates who saw AIP on their JAMB caps, but their O’Level results weren’t uploaded. They had to upload it immediately, and their caps ended up turning to ADMITTED. While some had this same issue, and their caps never changed to ADMITTED. That’s the reason why I told you to keep hoping.
But if you aren’t comfortable or can’t hope, then I will advise you to change your institution to another whose admission form is still on sale.
Nevertheless, if your institution gave a deadline and you didn’t meet it, kindly change your institution to another whose admission form is still available because you will likely not be given admission in your current choice of institution.
As long as your institution made it clear that any of their candidates who didn’t meet up with the deadline won’t be offered admission, I don’t really see any reason why you should keep on hoping. But if you uploaded yours before the deadline, even if it was a few hours before the deadline, then you don’t have any problem.
So in conclusion, the answer to whether the late upload of your O’Level results will affect your admission depends on if your institution gave a deadline or not, which I have explained already in this article.
