Book Your Consultation NowTo calculate your post-UTME screening score, you will need to add your O’Level score and post-UTME score together. The formula is
post-UTME Screening Score = A+B
Where
A=O’Level score
B=post-UTME Score
So let’s start by calculating your O’Level score first.
i) Calculate Your O’Level Score
To calculate your O’Level score, you will need to sum up the corresponding score for each of your grades in your 5 core O’Level subjects and divide the total by 5. The corresponding score for each grade is as follows.
A1=10
B2=9
B3=8
C4=7
C5=6
C6=5
Others=0
For example,
Let’s say Miracle wants to study medicine and surgery at OAU; his 5 core subjects will be English language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, and biology. Imagine he did WAEC, and his grades for those subjects were
English Language=A1
Mathematics=B3
Chemistry=B2
Physics=A1
Biology=A1
To get his O’Level score, we simply need to add the corresponding score for his grades and divide it by 5 as stated earlier. Let’s start by assigning the corresponding score for his grade in each subject.
English Language=A1(10)
Mathematics=B3(8)
Chemistry=B2(9)
Physics=A1(10)
Biology=A1(10)
Now let’s add the scores together
10+8+9+10+10=47
And finally, let’s divide it by 5.
47/5=9.4
So therefore, Miracle’s O’Level score is 9.4% out of 10%.
ii) Know Your post-UTME Score
The post-UTME score is usually released after writing the exam. The exam is over 40, so let’s say Miracle got 32 out of 40 in his post-UTME exam.
iii) Add Your O’level score and post-UTME score Together
From what we calculated earlier, Miracle’s O’Level score is 9.4, while his post-UTME score is 32. Now let’s add them together.
32+9.4= 41.4
Therefore, Miracle’s post-UTME screening score is 41.4%.
NOTE: You must be able to get a minimum of 25% in your post-UTME screening score before you can be considered for admission.
STEP 2: Calculate Your UTME score
To calculate your UTME score, just simply divide your score in UTME by 8.
For example,
Let’s say Miracle got 295 in UTME; to calculate his UTME score, we just need to divide 295 by 8. Calculating it, we will get
295/8= 36.875
Therefore, Miracle’s UTME score is 36.875% out of 50%.
STEP 3: Add Your post-UTME Screening Score and UTME Score Together
So to get your final aggregate score, simply add your post-UTME screening score and UTME score together. From what we calculated earlier, Miracle’s post-UTME screening score is 41.4%, while his UTME score is 36.875%. Adding them together, we will get
41.4+36.875=78.275
Therefore, Miracle’s total aggregate score is 78.275% out of 100%.
