One of the problems students seeking admission face is not being offered admission after being given transfer approval by JAMB. I must say, getting admission presently isn’t easy as schools are getting more competitive year by year.
And the gospel truth is that for every admission year, not all students will be offered admission due to one reason or the other, especially if they don’t merit it. Speaking about those who didn’t merit it, hope was given to them when JAMB started this transfer approval.
Currently, almost all institutions in Nigeria transfer over 70% of their candidates who didn’t merit their choice of course to a lower one that fits their aggregate. If you are part of those who were transferred, then this is good news, especially if you are desperate to get admission this year.
But what spoils the mood is when you still haven’t been offered admission after being transferred. Well, below are the possible reasons behind this and the solution. Let’s proceed.
Why You Weren’t Given Admission Even After JAMB Transfer Approval And Solutions
Below are the possible reasons why you haven’t been given admission yet after transfer.
1 Failure To Accept The Transfer Offer
Once a candidate has been transferred to a new course or institution, if such candidate is interested, the first thing he/she needs to do is check his/her JAMB caps to accept the offer. Failure to accept the offer simply means such a candidate is not interested.

Book Your Consultation NowSo if you haven’t been offered admission after transfer, kindly go ahead to accept the transfer offer on your JAMB caps. Now we have some candidates who have accepted it already but still haven’t been offered admission; this brings us to our second reason below.
2 Failure To Do A Change Of Institution/Course
The next step to take after accepting this transfer offer is to change to the new course/institution you were transferred to. All you need to do is visit an accredited CBT center close to you and do a change of course or institution.
So if you were transferred to a new course, then you have to do a change of course to the new course you were transferred to; the same also applies if you were transferred to a new institution.
If you follow these steps, you should be offered admission in a few days’ time. Now a student who was transferred reached out to me, saying
I have accepted the transfer and have also done a change of course/institution, but still I haven’t been offered admission yet. What should I do?
Cases like this often happen to candidates who failed to upload their O’Level results to their JAMB caps. Uploading of O’Level results is an important criteria when it comes to JAMB admission.
Whether you were transferred or not, your O’Level results still need to be uploaded on your JAMB caps before you can be offered admission.
So if you are like this student, kindly check your caps to see if your results were uploaded. And if it wasn’t, don’t hesitate to upload it. I know most of you reading this might have uploaded yours but are wondering if it is necessary to re-upload the results.
Well, I wrote an article about that, and from there you will see that it’s not necessary to reupload your O’Level results if they have been uploaded during your JAMB registration. You can find out more about that in the article.
Does Transfer Approval Guarantee Admission?
One thing you should know is that if you were transferred and you have done the necessary things like accepting the transfer, changing of course/institution, and making sure your O’Level results have been uploaded, you will definitely be offered admission.
In fact, for your institution to transfer you, it means you are already eligible for the course they are transferring you to. So we can safely say that not getting admission after JAMB transfer approval is almost impossible.
In conclusion, if you have done all the necessary things and you haven’t been offered admission yet, just relax. Don’t panic; your admission will definitely come. Some institutions might delay, but you getting admission as a student that was transferred is certain.
