Before you can comfortably say, “I have gained admission,” you need to be offered admission both on your JAMB caps and school portal. At that point, you will be given the option to either accept or reject the admission both on your JAMB caps and school portal.
And of course, you need to click on accept if you are interested in the admission. However, I found out that some students make mistakes by clicking reject instead of accept. This mistake might be due to ignorance, issues with their phone or whatever they are using to access their JAMB caps/school portal, and more.
A situation like this can make a student feel ashamed, worried, and sometimes depressed, especially if such student has been hoping for admission for a long time only for him/her to waste the opportunity by clicking reject.
If you are also one of those students who mistakenly rejected their admission on either their JAMB caps or school portal, then I will suggest you relax because the process can be reversed. Oh yes, it can, and I will be telling you how to do that in this article.
But before we proceed, I would like you to tell you what happens when a candidate rejects his/her admission either intentionally or by mistake. Then after that, I will give you the step-by-step process on how you can get your admission back after rejecting it by mistake. Cool right? Let’s proceed.
What Happens If You Reject Your Admission On JAMB Caps/School Portal?
If you reject your admission on either your JAMB caps or school portal, it simply means you are not interested in the admission. Below are the things that happen immediately when you click on the reject button.

What To Do If You Mistakenly Reject Your Admission On Your JAMB Caps/School Portal
I will be dividing this part into two sections; the first will be for those who mistakenly rejected admission on their JAMB caps, while the other will be for those who mistakenly rejected admission on their school portal.
1 JAMB Caps
If you mistakenly reject admission on your JAMB caps, below are the things you can do to fix it.
- Visit the JAMB office
One of the best ways to resolve cases like this is by visiting any JAMB office close to you to lay your complaints. When you get there, explain to them that you mistakenly rejected your admission on your JAMB caps, and they will help you resolve it in no time.
I have seen a couple of candidates in this situation that went to the JAMB office, and theirs was fixed. You just have to be fast about it because the earlier the better.
And for those who want to know if they will be charged any amount of money for this service, well, I don’t really know as it all depends on the branch. To be on a safer side, make sure you carry some extra change along so you won’t be stranded in case you are asked to pay.
- Contact JAMB Support
Another way you can resolve this is by contacting JAMB support. JAMB has a place where candidates who are facing issues can file their complaints, and they will get responded to within 24-48 hours after submitting their complaints.
All you need to do is visit HERE and lay your complaints. Make sure your message is well detailed, telling them that you mistakenly rejected your admission and you need help in resolving it since it was a mistake.
In a situation like this, my personal advice for you is to visit the JAMB office rather than contacting their support, because that way you can communicate with their officials and get your problems sorted with ease rather than waiting for 24-48 hours or even more for JAMB to respond to your ticket, which will only delay you.
2 School Portal
If you mistakenly reject admission on your school portal, the best way to resolve it is by getting in touch with your school. Below are the two ways you can get in contact with your school.
- By Visiting Your School
One good way to resolve a situation like this is by visiting your school, specifically their admission office or their ICT center, depending on the institution. When you get there, explain to them that you mistakenly rejected your admission. They will tell you what to do next and also help you to resolve it in most cases.
- By Sending Your School An Email
Most institutions have an email where students can submit all their complaints and it will get resolved. All you need to do is get your school support email and file your complaints. Like I always say, make sure your message is detailed, telling them that you mistakenly rejected admission on their portal and you need help in resolving it.
If you are finding it hard to get your school support email address, just visit their website/portal; you will definitely find it there. Take note that visiting your school is better than sending them an email, from my experience. This is because some schools hardly respond to emails, even if the sender waits for ages.
Note that if you are in a situation like this and you haven’t made any attempt to resolve it, JAMB or your school will be fully convinced that you intentionally rejected the admission and your slot might be given to another candidate. So please don’t waste time, because the earlier the better for you.
Conclusion
I think by now you should be able to know how to resolve this, whether you mistakenly rejected admission on your JAMB caps or your school portal. In case you encounter any problems during the process, you can always drop it in the comment section below, and we will tell you what to do next. Thanks for your time, and we wish you good luck.
Good day, I got a mail on the 31st of October saying that my institution wants to change my course from medicine to physiology but I didn’t respond. By 5th of November my JAMB caps changed to admission in progress for medicine. But up till today which is over 2weeks it hasn’t changed yet to admitted what should I do? Can I contact JAMB support?
Thank you for your response. First of all, have you been offered admission for medicine on your school portal?
