After doing your change of institution or course at any JAMB-accredited CBT centre, it’s essential for this change to reflect on both your JAMB and school portal. Without this change reflecting, you will not be able to register for post-UTME, and it might also lead to other complications.
However, I find out that most people don’t know how to check their JAMB and school portals to know if the change has reflected or not, which is a very big problem. This is why I decided to come up with this article that will be explaining in detail how to navigate through your JAMB and school portals to know if your change of course or institution has reflected.
All you have to do is to take your time and go through this article so you can understand all that I will be explaining. So without wasting much time, let’s proceed.
How To Know If Your Change Of Institution Or Course Has Reflected?
Like I said earlier, this change has to reflect on both your JAMB and school portal. So to make this part more understandable, I will be dividing it into two sections. The first will be telling you how to check your JAMB portal to know if your change of institution or course has reflected, while the second section will be telling you how to check your school portal to know if your change of institution or course has reflected.
1 JAMB Portal
To know if your change of institution has been reflected on your JAMB portal, kindly follow the steps below.
- Visit the JAMB portal following this link (https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/).

You will be taken to another page where you will be asked to input your email address; kindly input yours and click on reset password. Immediately, a new password will be sent to your email address, which you will use to log in.
- After that, you will see several rectangular sections. Click on the one that says “Check Admission Status.”.
- Then a new page will load. You will see a button that says “Access My Caps”; kindly click on it.
- A page will also load. There you will see several rectangular sections; kindly click on the one that says “My Choices Of Institution.”.
- Then finally, a new page will load where you will see all your current choices of institution and the course you choose to study in each of them. From this page, you will be able to know if your change of institution or course has reflected on your JAMB Portal. If the change hasn’t been reflected, just click on the button that says “Refresh,” and your new change will be reflected immediately.
Are you finding it hard to comprehend the steps listed above on how to check if your change of course or institution has reflected on your JAMB portal? If yes, kindly watch the video below.
Now how about the school portal? How do you know if your change of institution has been reflected on your school portal? Let’s find out.
2 School Portal
The process to confirm if your change of institution has reflected on your school portal differs from the process to verify if your change of course has reflected. Now let’s talk about each of them.
(i) Change of Institution
To check if your change of institution has reflected on your school portal, kindly visit your school portal. If you are able to access it successfully, then you will know your change of institution has reflected, but if you can’t access it, it simply means your change of institution has reflected already.
For example, if you try to log in to your school portal and you get several error responses like
- Invalid Login Details
- You have not made our institution your first choice
And many more error responses; it means you can’t access their portal, which means your change of institution hasn’t reflected. But if you try to log in and it is successful, it means you can access their portal, which means your change of institution has reflected.
So in essence, you cannot access an institution’s portal without making them your first choice or second choice depending on their policy. So after doing a change of institution, the only way to know if that change has been reflected is by trying to access their portal. And like I said earlier, if you are able to access their portal successfully, it means the change has been reflected, but if it wasn’t successful, it means the change hasn’t been reflected.
(ii) Course
To know if your change of course has reflected on your school portal, just log in to their portal and navigate to the part that displays your choice of course, and then you can know if it has reflected or not. All institutions designed their portals in different ways, so you just have to apply wisdom when trying to locate the exact part that displays your choice of course on your own school portal.
So in conclusion, confirming if your change of institution or course has reflected on both your JAMB and school portal is very crucial, and it’s not as hard as most people think. All you have to do is to know how to navigate through your JAMB and school portal the right way as explained in this article. Thanks for reading this article.
