Is Re-Uploading Of O’Level Results To JAMB Portal Compulsory?

In today’s article, I will be telling you if it’s compulsory to re-upload your O’Level results to the JAMB portal. One thing about admission seekers is that they tend to panic over little things.

Since the idea of uploading O’Level results started, I have seen countless false information spreading around. And this is making it look like a big deal, whereas it’s not. JAMB gave clear instructions years ago concerning this O’Level result, but students still prefer to get information from wrong sources, which is making them panic unnecessarily.

I am sure you are already eager to know what instructions were given by JAMB concerning uploading of O’Level results. Well, just relax because this article will be clearing the air. I will be telling you all you need to know about these instructions and will also be answering some other questions I feel admission seekers will want to ask about uploading of O’Level results.

Let’s start by understanding why uploading O’Level results is necessary.

Why Is Uploading O’Level Results To JAMB Portal Necessary?

Uploading of O’Level results is very necessary because it’s an important criteria for admission into tertiary institutions in Nigeria. This simply means without you uploading your WAEC, NECO, GCE, NABTEB, or NBAIS results, you won’t be offered admission.

Just like how JAMB and your school have to offer you admission on their portal before you can say you’ve been fully offered admission, your O’Level results also need to be uploaded on both your JAMB and school portal. But for this article, we will be focusing on that of the JAMB portal only.

Is It Compulsory Or Mandatory To Re-Upload Your O’Level Results To Your JAMB Portal?

There are two categories of students who usually ask this question. The first one used awaiting results during their JAMB registration while the second one didn’t use awaiting results, meaning that they uploaded their results during their JAMB registration.

  • Those That Used Awaiting Results

Most students who wanted to sit for JAMB used awaiting results because their O’Level results weren’t available by then. JAMB instruction to such students is that they will need to re-upload their O’Level results before their school admission process closes.

In other words, re-uploading of O’Level results for those students who used awaiting results during their JAMB registration is compulsory. And failure to do so means you are automatically ineligible for JAMB admission.

  • Those That Didn’t Use Awaiting Results

Some students had their O’Level results available during their JAMB registration, so it was uploaded. JAMB instruction to such students is that they don’t need to re-upload their O’Level results since it was already uploaded during their JAMB registration.

This means that re-uploading of O’Level results is not compulsory for those students who have already uploaded theirs during their JAMB registration. I hope this message is clear.

How About Candidates Who Used One O’Level Results But Wish To Replace It?

If you used an O’Level result during your JAMB registration and you aren’t satisfied with it, you can re-upload a new one, provided it is yours. For example, a student used his WAEC results during his JAMB registration, but later on his NECO results came out, in which he performed better.

Such a student can replace his WAEC results with NECO by re-uploading his NECO results to his JAMB caps. All he needs to do is visit any JAMB-accredited CBT center, and they will help you out with it. Such a student will also need to do this before he registers for post-UTME to avoid complications later on.

Do I Need To Go Back To The Same CBT Center I Registered My JAMB To Re-Upload My O’Level Results?

No, you don’t need to go back to the same CBT center where you registered for JAMB if you want to re-upload your O’Level results. All you need to do is visit any accredited CBT center close to you for re-uploading.

I Did Change Of Course, Do I Need To Re-Upload My O’Level Results?

No, you don’t need to. If you did change courses after the JAMB exam, there is no need of re-uploading your O’Level results. Doing a change, of course, doesn’t affect the O’Level results that were uploaded.

Conclusion

So in conclusion, whether you used awaiting results or not, check your JAMB caps so as to confirm if your results were uploaded or not. We have some CBT centers who failed to upload some candidates’ O’Level results despite them providing it during the registration. So to avoid a long story, just take some time to check. If it’s not there, kindly re-upload immediately.
